Brief History Of Mr. Samuel Ogbonna Ikechukwu

Late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna was born on 23rd September  1994 in Oghaho, Nkannu East Local Government  Area of Enugu State. He was born in to the family of Late. Mr Ogbonna Chukwu Chima and Mrs. Catherine Ogbonna Chukwu of Ummuhai village of Enuagu Amuru in Nkannu west Local government Area of Enugu State.

Marital Life of Late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna 

He got married to Mrs. Pateicia Ogbonna on 27th December, 1998. The marriage is blessed with the following children: Chiddina Catherine Ogbonna, Oyebuchi Catherine Ogbonna, Victor Onyebuchi Catherine Ogbonna and Isah Catherine Ogbonna.

Late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna gave his life to Christ as a youth in the late 1960s.  He was instrumental to the early conversion of his younger ones in the family.  His zeal and passion for Christ took him across many borders in Enugu State  and Nigeria. At Ogbako, in Nkawu East Local Government area of Enugu state, he was among those who established Ogbako Christian Union in 1870s.  When he came back to Ammurri in fact, he was among those believers who were tortured for their faith on April 1st 1979 by idol worshipers.  An event that remains indelible in the mind of Amurri believers.

Late Mr. Ogbonna, popularly known as "Bro Sam" among the brethren spent his lifetime in preaching the gospel. The history of true Christianity in Ammurri will not be complete without mentioning his name.  He served for over thirty (39)  years.  Three decades in Baptist church Eziokope Anmuri at various capacities.  He was the church choir master in the 1980s,  Sunday school superintendent,  Church financial secretary, Church Treasurer and acting Pastor.  He is well known by various pastors who came to serve in Baptist Church Ammurri and at the association level and even at the conference level.  He will be missed by members of Baptist church in Ammurri and even at the conference level.  He will be missed by Amumurri Christian Community.  However, the only consolation is in revelation 14:13 "and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from hence forth; yeah, saint the spirit, that they may or rest from their labours "Only remembered by what he has done".

Late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna Education Background/Career

Late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna attended community primary School, Ogbako in the 1960s.  As a pupil, he was very intelligent and brilliant.  Upon finishing his primary education,  he chose to go to teaching profession.  He began his teaching career ad an Auxiliary teacher in the early 1970s.  His first place of employment was Community Central School Ezioke Ammurri, where he touched and shaped many lives before proceeding to teachers Training College, Ihe, Awgu in Enugu  State where he got his Teacher Certificate (TCII). He later pursued and obtained a National Certificate in education (NCE) in the late 1990s.  His teaching profession took him to many schools in Ammurri and Ukwagba Communities all in Enugu State.  He retired as a headmaster in Community Central School Eziokwe Ammuri. Late Mr. Ogbonna was an industrious man, which made him to combine his teaching profession with farm work. He believed in dignity of labour,  a culture he inculcated into his family members.

Late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna Health and Death 

late Mr. Samuel Ogbonna began to develop some health challenges as from 2014. He visited many hospital where he received medical attention.  However,  the last sickness that led to his transition began in August 2018. He was taken to Onitsha for medical attention. He was admitted in Crown  Hospital Nkoor and went to be with his lord on 12th December,  2019 at about 3:00am.
